About the Role
As a Plumbing Estimator, you’ll serve as Lula’s subject matter expert for plumbing repairs, replacements, and capital projects. You’ll review scopes of work, photos, videos, and field notes to create accurate estimates, validate contractor proposals, and provide technical guidance to internal teams and customers.
This is an ideal opportunity for a licensed plumber looking to leverage their expertise in a fast-paced office environment without the physical demands of field work.
Responsibilities
- Review plumbing service requests, diagnostics, photos, videos, and contractor proposals.
- Develop detailed estimates for residential plumbing repairs and replacements.
- Validate labor, material, and subcontractor pricing across multiple markets.
- Identify incomplete scopes, missing line items, and opportunities to improve estimate accuracy.
- Serve as the primary plumbing expert for internal teams including Sales, Operations, and Customer Success.
- Provide recommendations on repair versus replacement decisions.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Lula’s flat-rate pricing catalog.
- Communicate directly with contractors, property managers, and customers when clarification is needed.
- Track estimate status and ensure timely turnaround on quote requests.
- Support quality assurance efforts by reviewing completed jobs and estimate outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Active Journeyman or Master Plumber license.
- 5+ years of residential plumbing experience.
- Strong understanding of plumbing diagnostics, repairs, replacements, repipes, sewer work, water heaters, fixtures, and code requirements.
- Experience creating estimates, bids, or proposals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable reviewing photos, videos, and remote diagnostics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and web-based software.
Preferred
- Experience with single-family rental (SFR) properties.
- Experience managing plumbing projects.
- Previous estimating, service management, or operations experience.
- Multi-state plumbing knowledge.

What We’re Looking For

- 5+ years of residential HVAC experience.
- EPA Certification required.
- Strong understanding of HVAC diagnostics, repairs, system replacements, heat pumps, furnaces, condensers, air handlers, refrigerant systems, ductwork, and ventilation systems.
- Experience creating estimates, bids, or proposals.
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC equipment manufacturers and pricing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable reviewing photos, videos, and remote diagnostics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and web-based software.
Preferred
- HVAC Contractor License or Journeyman License.
- Experience with single-family rental (SFR) properties.
- Experience managing HVAC projects.
- Previous estimating, service management, or operations experience.
- Multi-state HVAC code knowledge.
- Familiarity with Manual J load calculations and system sizing.
